You can access Gmail via a PC, Linux, or Macintosh (Mac) computer.
Fully supported browsers (we recommend using these to get all of Gmail's newest features):
- Google Chrome (download: Windows Mac Linux)
- Firefox 3.5+ (download: Windows Mac Linux)
- Internet Explorer 7.0+
- Safari 3.0+ (download: Mac Windows)
- Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari do not support desktop notifications.
- Offline Gmail only works for specific browsers. Learn more about offline Gmail here.
Beginning August 1, 2011, we’ll support the
current and previous major releases of Chrome, Firefox, Internet
Explorer and Safari on a rolling basis. Each time a new version is
released, we’ll begin supporting that version and stop supporting the
third-oldest version. Learn more about supported browsers for Google
Apps in the Gmail blog post.
Untested browsers (we don't test them, but believe they will work with all of Gmail's features):
Browsers without full Gmail features (you can access Gmail, but you won't have some of the latest features):
- IE 5.5+ (download: Windows)
- Netscape 7.1+ (download: Windows Mac Linux)
- Firefox 0.8+ (download: Windows Mac Linux)
- Safari 1.3+ (download: Mac Windows)
Other browsers (If you use a browser other than those listed above, you'll be automatically directed to the basic HTML view of Gmail.
- IE 4.0+
- Netscape 4.07+
- Opera 6.03+
